Non-attendance Regulations

Non-attendance regulations will be explained to everybody at the beginning of the school year. You are obliged to attend all lessons punctually, hand in all written assignments on the designated date and take part in all written and oral mock exams.

If you have been absent, you have to give the reason electronically in Lectio, our timetable system. If you have too much absenteeism, you risk losing your SU and/or your student card and you risk having to take exams in all subjects. You can also be expelled from the school.

When we assess your possible absenteeism, we take into consideration the reason, for example illness or other problems that affect your school work. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from the student councellors – that is what they are for and they are good at helping you to find solutions you did not necessarily think of yourself.

If you have to be excused from sports for a longer period of time (more than a couple of weeks), you have to hand in a doctor’s note or a written declaration from your doctor at the school offi ce. You pay for the doctor’s note yourself.

The Ministry of Education determines the general regulations concerning absenteeism (see www.uvm.dk). However, at Grenaa Gymnasium the school board has decided a more detailed list of Study and School Rules.
